Our trip to Utah

We had a great trip to Utah for Lizzy's graduation from BYU. My parents and Chris and I decided to drive and enjoy the views on the way. We left at 1:30am Tuesday morning and headed for north Texas for a 9:00 business meeting. Not 4 hours into the trip and in the middle of no where, the truck broke down. One of the belts slipped off and was causing the truck to over heat. Chris and Dad spent the next 45 mins fixing that, all while Mom and I where doing stupid things to keep ourselves entertained. That was also a quick reminder for us to say our prayers and ask the Lord to watch over us. The rest of the Texas drive went off without a hitch, except for a great outhouse story that I won't post. (you'll have to ask about this one)

One of my favorite parts was getting to Colorado. I love Colorado and all the mountains and beauty it has to offer. It was much colder then I had anticipated, but it was awesome to see snow again. We also saw tons of elk, deer, antelope and finally our first big horned sheep. The snow melt also made for some great waterfalls.

Finally it was on to Utah and the long awaited graduation. The day of commencement was great, expect it snowed and we were not prepared for the cold weather. (I had a skirt, short sleeved shirt and sandals) We got to hear Elder Bednar one of the 12 Apostles and that was amazing. It was really fun to see Lizzy and I'm so proud of her for graduating. We spent a lot of time in Provo and American Fork where we were staying with my cousin Ellen. Overall Utah was great; snow, mountains, church book stores and Temples galore, Anniversary Inn, family, Music and the Spoken Word, hearing the Mormon Tabernacle Choir sing with the orchestra and the only place you can stand in 4 states at once!

On the way home, we had my Grandma with us and we enjoyed more site seeing. Arches National park was soo pretty. We had a great time on our vacation. Thanks Lizzy for letting us invade you're life for a few days, Ellen for letting us stay with you and play with your boys and Chris and Dad for putting up with Mom and me and our craziness.
